Become a Member

Interested in becoming a NAGDU member? Becoming a NAGDU member also means becoming a member of the National Federation of the Blind. We welcome everyone. This includes, but is not limited to blind people, sighted people, parents of blind children, blind students, those who have guide dogs, are considering obtaining a guide dog, are involved professionally in the guide dog field, represent a guide dog training program, or are owner trainers.

Becoming a NAGDU member is simple. Membership dues are paid annually, and cost $5 per person. There are several ways you can pay dues. Many people join during the annual seminar or business meetings that NAGDU holds during the annual convention of the National Federation of the Blind. It is also possible to join at any time of the year using one of the following methods.

  • The Cash App: Use either the CashTag $nagdu1 or $nfbnagdu
  • Zelle: Use either or 346-439-7444
  • PayPal: Use either or

Alternatively, you may use the NAGDU Donation Form to send your electronic payment using PayPal. Whether you pay for your membership with the Cash App, Zelle, or PayPal, please note in the comment section that you are paying dues, so that you may be properly added to our membership list.

Annual membership dues can also be sent to the NAGDU Treasurer. Make checks payable to the National Association of Guide Dog Users, and send them to:

Please note that membership in a state affiliate guide dog user division of NAGDU also entitles you to membership in the national organization. Your state leadership will send a membership roster to the national organization for inclusion in our roster. You do not need to pay national dues in this case.

Once you have given your contact information to NAGDU and paid your membership dues, you will be entitled to all of the rights, privileges and benefits afforded to NAGDU and NFB members. You are now a part of the nation’s oldest and largest organization of blind consumers in the United States.
